1. Turn on the PMB.
  2. Press the [Test/↓] key to set testing procedures.
  3. Use the [Dspl/↑] and [Test/↓] to cycle through the test procedures.
  4. The options are “Moisture” “Atro moisture” and “Heat”. When “Heat” is displayed, use the [Setup/Enter] key to continue.
  5. Use the [Dspl/↑] and [Test/↓] to cycle through the options. You can pick “Single”, “Ramp”, or “Step”.

Single

If the single option is picked, the PMB will heat the sample at the temperature inputted as fast as possible.

  1. The display will show “Single” and “123 C”. The left digit will be flashing.
  2. Use the [Print/←] and [PST/→] keys to move or go back to a digit, and the [Dspl/↑] and [Test/↓] to increase or decrease the digit’s value.

    Note: The temperature range is 050 C to 160 C.

  3. Press [Setup/Enter] to confirm the temperature.

Ramp

The ramp option allows users to select a temperature and how long it should take for the PMB to heat the sample to that temperature.

  1. The display will show “Ramp” and “123 C”. The left digit will be flashing.
  2. Use the [Print/←] and [PST/→] keys to move or go back to a digit, and the [Dspl/↑] and [Test/↓] to increase or decrease the digit’s value.
  3. Press [Setup/Enter] to confirm the temperature.
  4. “Ramp Time” will be displayed.
  5. Use the [Print/←] and [PST/→] keys to move or go back to a digit, and the [Dspl/↑] and [Test/↓] to increase or decrease the digit’s value.
  6. The user can select a time up to 99:59.

Step

The step option allows users to set up 3 time intervals, each with a different temperature. This setting is useful for delicate samples that are difficult to dry without burning.

  1. The display will show “Step 1” and “123 C”. The left digit will be flashing.
  2. Use the [Print/←] and [PST/→] keys to move or go back to a digit, and the [Dspl/↑] and [Test/↓] to increase or decrease the digit’s value.
  3. Press [Setup/Enter] to confirm the temperature.
  4. The display will show “Time 1”. The left digit will be flashing.
  5. Use the [Print/←] and [PST/→] keys to move or go back to a digit, and the [Dspl/↑] and [Test/↓] to increase or decrease the digit’s value.
  6. Press [Setup/Enter] to confirm the temperature. The time for step 1 must be at least 3 minutes.
  7. Repeat these steps for step 2 and step 3.

Note: If you only need 2 steps, you can set the time of step 3 to “00.00”.
