FAQ
There's a lot that goes into choosing the right analytical balance, but you'll want to start with what capacities and readabilities you require. For example, if you need results to the third decimal place, we recommend investing in a four-place analytical balance. This way, you know that your three-place results are as precise as possible. Similarly, attempt to get a capacity higher than you might anticipate needing. This will allow you to use containers for your sample freely, without the risk of overloading.
Then, consider what you may need beyond weighing. Additional applications, connectivity, GLP-compliance and the type of display are all preferences that you should think about.
If you need help choosing the right analytical balance for you, contact Adam Equipment, we're happy to help.
The primary difference between analytical balances and semi-micro balances are the expected readabilities. Adam semi-micro balances offer readabilities of 0.00001g/0.01mg, while our analytical balances are all 0.0001g/0.1mg. Semi-micro balances are also more sensitive to drafts than analytical balances, which is why many, in addition to draft shields, will feature a secondary draft ring to block air from directly around the weighing pan.
